What is Varaždin Park?

Varaždin Park offers a unique opportunity for existing and newly formed BIOTECHNOLOGY, LIFE SCIENCE and HI-TECH companies to set up and operate in an innovative, inspirational, safe and secure environment.

The Park is an out-of-town location, strategically located a short distance from the City of Varaždin in the heart of one of Europe’s main pharmaceutical and biotechnology hubs.

The Park is approximately 100 hectares (approximately 250 acres) in size. It has full physical planning permission and it will offer fully serviced plots capable of accommodating large manufacturing and production buildings, as well as smaller office or laboratory facilities.

Varaždin Park will have a controlled access system, operating in conjunction with the security arrangements for individual plots, which will enhance security for all users. A so-called ‘soft’ boundary will be designed with overall landscaping in mind to improve the visual impact of the environment.

A landscaped design is envisioned for the Park, enhancing the working environment and the prestige of the location. Emphasis has been put on the natural surroundings, including expansive water features.

The Park’s infrastructure will include internal access roads and all necessary utilities to ensure that all development plots are fully serviced.

It is proposed that existing public transport routes will pass through the Park, thereby improving access, reducing car parking requirements and helping the environment.

Added Value

The Park is recognised as a project of national importance, with a Memorandum of Understanding between BPV and the Trade and Investment Promotion Agency of Croatia formally signed in July 2006.

Varaždin Park will enhance the growth and development of life science and high-tech companies in Croatia and the region of Varaždin, helping further create jobs and boosting the wider economy as Croatia is transformed into an internationally recognised knowledge-based destination.

The Park will form the basis for cooperation between various academic and scientific institutions, government and non-government organizations and other local and regional bodies in order to promote the development of the life sciences sector and Croatia’s overall economic performance.

It is expected that the Park will become a new important European centre of excellence in the biotechnology and life sciences arena, and thus further support:
